Source code

StreamHelpers.com's own software is closed source. That covers the IRL Dashboard, the Companion app, the receiver's setup and StreamHelpers Pro.

  • It is not published, not on GitHub or anywhere else.
  • It is not open source, and it won't become open source.
  • It is not available on request, whatever the reason: auditing, learning, forking, porting, fixing it yourself, or “just curious”.

This is not up for debate. Like it or not, run it or not. It's your choice, and either is fine. Don't ask. Requests for the source, and arguments about it, are removed from the Discord server and from this wiki without a reply.

Open-source parts

The software is built on, and ships with, open-source components made by other people: things like FFmpeg, SRTLA, MediaMTX and datarhei Restreamer. Those components keep their own licences. Every one is credited, with its licence and where its source can be obtained, at streamhelpers.com/credits. That page is how we meet those licences. It does not make StreamHelpers' own code open.

What you can do instead

  • Found a bug? Report it in #bug-reports on Discord, with the steps to reproduce it.
  • Want it to do something new? Post it in #feature-requests and get it voted up.
  • Found a security problem? Send a private message to a member with the Trusted role on Discord. That is exactly the kind of thing they pass on.
