What sets StreamHelpers apart for IRL streaming?
StreamHelpers connects the work that often lives in separate tools: cellular bonding, mobile camera production, live overlays and publishing controls. The goal is one manageable workflow, not more equipment for its own sake.
Compare the workflows
This is a comparison of setup approaches, not a benchmark or a claim that specific competing products lack features. Phone apps and bonded encoders vary; check their current capabilities. StreamHelpers uses the BELABOX project's SRTLA transport, with its own dashboard and Companion workflow around it.
On a narrow screen, swipe each table sideways to see every column, or focus it and use the arrow keys.
| Need | One-phone stream | Standalone bonded encoder | StreamHelpers workflow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Multiple internet paths | A single active uplink is a single point of failure. | Combines the encoder's supported connections. | SRTLA manages supported router cellular, shared phones and Wi-Fi, with per-link health. |
| Camera and director roles | Capture and production depend on the app. | Production depends on encoder features or an external director. | Companion can capture and direct, receive up to four inputs and work with supported external cameras. |
| Live information | Depends on app integrations. | Comes from the production layer, not bonding alone. | GPS, weather, park data and queue timers through a visual designer and combined overlay URL. |
| Audience games | Depends on platform and app features. | Needs a chat/production integration. | Polls, trivia, closest guess and emoji graphics; automated participation requires Pro Chat. |
| Troubleshooting | Phone and platform indicators. | Encoder and network statistics. | Camera, encoding, bond, receiver and publishing health in a connected dashboard workflow. |
| Expansion | Limited by the chosen app and phone. | Limited by supported inputs and integrations. | Start with router + phone; add cameras, power, shared links or optional Pro crew features. |
Free versus optional Pro
The dashboard is free by invitation, not a public download or an open-source product. Pro is optional. A free dashboard does not mean a zero-cost stream: hardware, data, hosting and external services are separate.
| Feature | Access | What else you need |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard and SRTLA controls | Free dashboard, by invitation. | Compatible router, supported uplinks, data plans and reachable receiver. |
| Companion core production | Core camera/director operation, ordinary cuts and free layouts. | Compatible Android phone, cooling, power and configured camera feeds. |
| GPS, weather and park overlays | Core dashboard graphics; clean overlays without the StreamHelpers mark are Pro. | GPS source, internet and any configured data-service credentials. |
| Game cards and questions | Cards can be used without automatic chat participation. | Your own content; an AI provider key if using AI generation. |
| Pro Chat and automatic game participation | Pro. | Separately paid Restream subscription as supported source, or an advanced unsupported user-operated feed. |
| Public Live Map and motion | Pro. | Configured location sharing; Companion phone sensors for motion/g-force. |
| Remote phones and crew text talkback | Pro. | Paired phones, configured reachable camera routes and usable internet. Talkback is text, not audio intercom. |
| Advanced layouts, fades, music and photos | Pro production features. | Compatible director phone and media. Music rights and GIPHY API credentials, if used, are separate. |
| Public live links and Stripe tips | Pro. | Configured Restream broadcasts for live links; your own Stripe account and its fees for tipping. |
Read the current Pro feature details before subscribing. Restreamer is the receiver's publishing software; Restream.io is a separate service. StreamHelpers does not host direct platform chat connectors. Replying uses Restream's reply-capable chat, opened separately.
Who this setup suits
It suits creators who want to run a compact or expandable IRL rig and are willing to configure their router, phone and receiver. Theme park and travel broadcasts benefit from location, weather and queue features; multi-camera creators can distribute camera and production jobs.
If a direct one-phone broadcast already meets your needs, it may be simpler. StreamHelpers adds configuration and equipment as well as control. It is provided as-is with community help, not a managed broadcast service or personal support contract.
Limits worth understanding
No bond can send video when every usable connection is unavailable. Receiver backup video needs setup and off-air testing. Supported output formats depend on phone hardware and platform compatibility, while multiple phones do not pool encoding power. Keep private controls on your LAN or a configured private network.
Choose the rig, not just the feature list
Plan an IRL streaming setup and understand the delivery path before adding equipment.
