# Premium Chat operations

Premium Chat combines supported platform conversations in the router-native Chat page. The dashboard renders the Chat interface locally; StreamHelpers holds provider OAuth credentials and refresh tokens.

## Pairing and connection

1. Open the dashboard's Premium Chat settings page.
2. Start a pairing request and open its StreamHelpers connection link.
3. Sign in to the StreamHelpers account with an active Premium Chat entitlement.
4. Connect the supported provider accounts and select the channels to relay.
5. Return to the router dashboard and wait for the connection state to become ready.

The router stores only its protected pairing material. Do not share pairing links, router settings files, overlay URLs, or device secrets.

## Host Chat page

The host Chat page is the live-control surface:

- New messages appear with their platform/source and optional avatar.
- The `+` and `-` controls change the host feed font size. The choice is retained by that browser.
- `Feature` adds a message to the Featured Messages queue.
- A queued message is marked `Queued`.
- The active featured message is marked `On screen`.
- `On screen` advances to the next queued message, or clears the current item if none are queued.
- Previously completed highlighted messages are retained in history for 24 hours and shown as featured earlier.

Keep the Chat page open while operating a live event. The local collector preserves the message feed through brief page disconnects and continues to request relay updates from StreamHelpers.

## Celebrations

The relay normalizes supported YouTube events so the Featured Messages overlay can style them independently:

- Super Chat
- Super Sticker
- New member
- Member milestone
- Membership gift
- Gifted membership received

Each celebration uses its own title, accent, hold duration, optional HTTPS graphic, and graphic position. Ordinary featured chat uses the shared Featured Chat style.

## Persistent choices

The following UI choices are stored in the browser that makes them:

- Host Chat font size
- Standard Chat Overlay builder selections
- Featured Messages builder selections, including colors, animations, timing, graphics, preview type, transparent background, and border settings

These choices survive page reloads on the same browser. They are intentionally not synchronized to another computer, phone, or browser profile. The copied browser-source URL includes the selected output settings and remains the source of truth for that browser source.

## Provider availability

Provider connection and delivery availability are controlled by the StreamHelpers service and each platform. A disconnected or unavailable provider should be treated as unavailable until the dashboard reports it ready. In particular, Discord requires a valid production shared-bot token and Message Content Intent; do not assume Discord relay is operational merely because the UI is present.
